For families visiting Fiji, a stay along the Coral Coast is a must. It’s where you’ll find gorgeous beaches and vibrant coral reefs. There are lots of family-friendly resorts to choose from, but it’s hard to match the Fijian hospitality found at OUTRIGGER Fiji Beach Resort.
This resort is great for families with kids of all ages. A kids club is available for those 12 and under between the hours of 9am-9pm. There’s also daily activities for teens. The best part is that most of the kid activities are complimentary.

Accommodations at OUTRIGGER Fiji Beach Resort
OUTRIGGER offers a range of accommodations for families – including traditional guest rooms, one bedroom suites, and bures.
Most bures sleep four people. However, the 2-bedroom bures can sleep up to 8 people. (A bure is a traditional Fijian cottage, or bungalow.) These units are more expensive, but worth the splurge!
Guest rooms are newly renovated across the property. Furnishings are modern with tasteful Fijian accents. Expect to find amenities like a hot water kettle, tea and coffee, a refrigerator, slippers and bathrobes in your room.
Ocean View rooms, suites and bures come with butler service. That includes a complimentary glass of champagne and a canapé each evening.
Rates vary considerably based on the room type and the season. The high season is typically May through August.
Activities at OUTRIGGER Fiji Beach Resort
Kids Club
As mentioned previously, the OUTRIGGER kids club is a huge perk for families. Supervised activities are offered throughout the day for the resort’s youngest guests. Kids are separated by age. Little Riggers is for 3-7-year-olds. And Beach Riggers is for those aged 8-12. Kids can drop in for a particular activity – or stay all day.
KidTripster Tip: Nanny service is available for infants, or for childcare outside of the kids club, at a cost.
There are complimentary organized activities for teens, too. Those might include weaving lessons, spear throwing, pool volleyball, and beach bonfires. Teens are also invited to participate in environmental initiatives like coral planting.
Water Sports
OUTRIGGER is a beachfront resort. Kayaking, snorkeling, and other water sports are available to guests. The surf in front of the resort is protected by the reef, making it calmer and safer for swimming and playing.
Pools
OUTRIGGER has two pools. The resort recently installed a fun twisty slide at the large family pool. The pool is centrally located in the middle of the resort. There’s plenty of seating, and snacks and drink are just steps away.
There’s an adults only pool, too. It features a swim up bar. It’s a great place to chill while you kids are busy.
Exercise
Looking to keep up your workout routine during your stay? Activities like power walks, yoga, pool aerobics are available daily.
Adventure Park
Beyond the activities you might expect to find at a beach resort, OUTRIGGER has a unique adventure park. Located at the resort, guests can enjoy a driving range, archery, and paintball. These activities do come at an extra cost. During our stay, OUTRIGGER offered an adventure combo deal that included all three activities for about $35 USD.
KidTripster Tip: There’s a large chalkboard by the activities center that lists all of the daily activities. An even easier way to stay up to date is to download the app at check in.

Spa Services at OUTRIGGER Fiji Beach Resort
The Bebe Spa overlooks the resort and beach. A shuttle transports guests up the hill from the hotel to the spa. This is an adults-only area. Spa treatment rooms overlook the ocean below. It’s a gorgeous way to relax.
KIdTripster Tip: After your treatment, head to even higher ground at the Kalo Kalo bar, which is higher up the hillside. It’s the ideal place for cocktails and tapas at sunset.
Dining at OUTRIGGER Fiji Beach Resort
There are a variety of restaurants at OUTRIGGER including quick serve, sit-down, and buffet.
The main restaurant is the resort’s buffet, Vale Ni Kana. It serves breakfast and dinner. Vale Ni Kana serves up an absolutely huge spread of food, one of the largest and most interesting buffets we’ve experienced in our travels. There are different themes offered each night. That might include a Fijan lovo feast (during a lovo, food is cooked for hours underground). There’s also seafood, Asian, Mediterranean and Mexican nights.
There are other tasty options for lunch and dinner. We saw lots of families enjoying the wood fired pizza offered at Sundowner. This restaurant also has pasta, as well as char grilled seafood and steaks. Lunch is casual. Dinner is the place to be for gorgeous sunset views.
Barivi is another lunch and dinner spot. It’s located near the pool, with underneath an open-air bure. Lunch is open to everyone. Dinner is for adults and kids 10 and older. The restaurant serves dishes with an Asian flair, like noodles and dim sum, as well as seafood.
KidTripster Tip: The restaurant menus indicate common food allergies. Staff was knowledgeable and helpful in accommodating food allergies during our stay.
There are a few other spots for meals, including the adults only breakfast and lunch spot, Vahavu Bistro, situated next to the adults-only pool.
KidTripster Tip: If you’d like to make your stay at OUTRIGGER more of an all-inclusive experience, the resort offers meal plans. Check the website for current offers. There’s often a “Kids Eat Free” option available for families traveling with kids ages 12 and younger.
