We went “Over the Edge” on Europe’s highest swing. The swing at A’DAM Lookout sits 328 feet over the city. Oh what a thrill it was!
If the idea of dangling over the edge of Amsterdam launches you into a cold sweat, don’t worry. A visit to the Lookout doesn’t require that you go for a swing. In fact, that experience costs extra. It costs approximately $17 to enter the sky deck at the A’DAM Lookout, and $28 for a combo ticket which includes the swing. Discounts are available for kids and families.
KidTripster Tip: You can buy swing tickets in advance. Because of the limited number of swings, the experience sometimes sells out.

If you choose to do the swing, you’ll be able to download a free video of the experience. For your planning purposes, videos aren’t available after dark. For obvious safety reasons, you won’t be able to take your phone on the swing, but the employees on the ground will take photos for you. The swing experience lasts about a minute.
The A’DAM Lookout offers visitors 360 degree views of the city. From the observation deck, interactive binoculars that help spot some of the city’s iconic buildings. Inside, there’s a VR roller coaster, and a restaurant with amazing views.
During our river cruise with A-ROSA, our ship spent the night in Amsterdam, just across the river from the A’DAM Lookout.
